EXPERIENTIAL THERAPY & SYSTEMIC APPROACH

As a therapist, I work from an experiential and systemic perspective. Unlike purely talk-based forms of therapy, experiential therapy (also know as emotionally focused therapy) places direct experience at the center of the process. Challenges are not only discussed, but made tangible within the protected setting of the session. Cognitive understanding can be a first step – lasting change, however, emerges where emotions are perceived and integrated in the present moment. I complement this approach with systemic methods. As your therapist, I am always part of the process and actively accompany it.

The foundation of my work is a humanistic view of the person: every individual is unique and inherently valuable, just as they are. Under supportive conditions, people possess the capacity for personal growth, self-responsibility, and meaningful relationships. Therapeutic support can help reconnect with one’s own resources and potentials.

Curiosity, respect, acceptance, transparency, and equality are central to my work. I understand experience as a holistic process in which thinking, feeling, and bodily awareness are interconnected. It is within this interplay that deeper causes behind symptoms such as depression, anxiety, or relationship difficulties can become visible, allowing new inner movement and change to unfold.

Depending on individual needs, I draw on a range of methods to support individuals, couples, and families on their respective developmental paths.

ABOUT ME

Even during my school years, I knew I wanted to study psychology. Life initially led me in a different direction – into the film industry. This path allowed me to work internationally with people from a wide range of cultural backgrounds, social contexts and hierarchical structures. During this time, I learned to navigate complex dynamics, mediate conflicts and hold clarity in demanding situations. As a producer, my role was to bring together diverse perspectives and develop solutions that could hold under pressure.

Building on this experience, I co-founded and led two internationally successful companies in the advertising and film industry over a period of more than ten years.

In 2016, I became a mother. With this transition, my attention increasingly turned inward. I began to engage more deeply with my own history, inherited patterns and questions that had accompanied me since early on. This personal process brought me back to my original interest: understanding people and relationships.

I completed a four-year training in experienced orientated and emotion focussed  couple and family therapy at the German-Danish Institute for Family Therapy (DDIF). I subsequently deepened my work through advanced training in systemic therapy, which is currently in its final phase. I am also a licensed psychotherapist under the German Heilpraktikergesetz (HPG).

The experiential approach fundamentally changed my perspective. For a long time, I believed that people remained largely bound to their patterns and that fear or emotional pain were difficult to transform. Today, I know that change is possible. Through both personal experience and professional work, I have seen how mindful therapeutic processes can soften old imprints, allow separation to be integrated, and make new forms of connection possible. Above all, I have come to understand that, unlike in childhood, we have choices as adults.

In my work, I value clarity, openness and genuine respect. I offer a space free from judgment, where what is present is allowed to emerge. My aim is to provide stability, orientation and a resonant therapeutic framework in which development can unfold.

I work in my private practice in Berlin-Mitte and am also active as a family therapist at the Family Centre Weißensee.
