Individual Therapy

We often learn early on to be strong, to take responsibility or to function – often at the expense of our inner world. Feelings are set aside, needs are adapted, inner tension is carried for a long time. Outwardly, much may appear stable, while inwardly exhaustion, emptiness or a sense of disconnection can develop.

The effort it takes to keep certain feelings at bay – such as fear, sadness, guilt or shame – does not come without consequences. What finds no direct expression often seeks other ways to be felt, for example as inner restlessness, a sense of being driven, depressive moods, anxiety or physical symptoms. I do not understand these manifestations as disorders, but as signals that something essential wants to be seen and felt.

In individual therapy, I accompany you in giving space to these inner movements. Together, we approach what has been shaping – gently and without judgment. Experiences of attachment and loss, closeness and withdrawal can find their place here, as can experiences from different phases of life that continue to resonate in the present.

My work is experiential and systemic. Alongside conversation, emotions, bodily sensations and what may not yet have clear words are given space. Change does not arise through understanding alone, but through new experiences in the here and now, which gradually allow for greater inner flexibility and freedom of action.

Individual therapy can offer support in acute crises as well as in phases of exhaustion, disorientation or recurring patterns in inner experience and relationships. It is for people who wish to come closer to themselves, loosen entrenched inner processes and develop a more attuned way of relating to themselves and their lives.

ABOUT ME

Even during my school years, I knew I wanted to study psychology. Life initially led me in a different direction – into the film industry. This path allowed me to work internationally with people from a wide range of cultural backgrounds, social contexts and hierarchical structures. During this time, I learned to navigate complex dynamics, mediate conflicts and hold clarity in demanding situations. As a producer, my role was to bring together diverse perspectives and develop solutions that could hold under pressure.

Building on this experience, I co-founded and led two internationally successful companies in the advertising and film industry over a period of more than ten years.

In 2016, I became a mother. With this transition, my attention increasingly turned inward. I began to engage more deeply with my own history, inherited patterns and questions that had accompanied me since early on. This personal process brought me back to my original interest: understanding people and relationships.

I completed a four-year training in experienced orientated and emotion focussed  couple and family therapy at the German-Danish Institute for Family Therapy (DDIF). I subsequently deepened my work through advanced training in systemic therapy, which is currently in its final phase. I am also a licensed psychotherapist under the German Heilpraktikergesetz (HPG).

The experiential approach fundamentally changed my perspective. For a long time, I believed that people remained largely bound to their patterns and that fear or emotional pain were difficult to transform. Today, I know that change is possible. Through both personal experience and professional work, I have seen how mindful therapeutic processes can soften old imprints, allow separation to be integrated, and make new forms of connection possible. Above all, I have come to understand that, unlike in childhood, we have choices as adults.

In my work, I value clarity, openness and genuine respect. I offer a space free from judgment, where what is present is allowed to emerge. My aim is to provide stability, orientation and a resonant therapeutic framework in which development can unfold.

I work in my private practice in Berlin-Mitte and am also active as a family therapist at the Family Centre Weißensee.
